Ayur-Veda, the science of life

This system arises from the premise that the body possesses an inner intelligence that is used to maintain harmony within the body.  All treatments are directed at harnessing this inner intelligence. Human physiological types or constitutions known as doshas are divided in to three major categories, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, they work together to attain balance. The constitution of balance is expected to be specific to individuals, therefore everyone will have a different balance to begin with.  If these elements are disturbed physiological imbalance results progressing towards established disease. Hence, imbalances can also be detected very early, corresponding to the pre-clinical phase of disease expression in western conventional medicine.

In our practice, we begin with extended pulse examination and limited physical exam. We assess your dosha/s and evaluate your condition with respect to your dosha/s. Diet, digestion, lifestyle, mind-body balance and toxic burden are taken in to account. Specific ayur-vedic dietary recommendations are made with botanical supplements as needed. This is an excellent means to assess the imbalance in your lifestyle and health from an alternative perspective. An initial visit is not required before an ayurvedic assessment which can stand alone, however, we do ask you fill out new patient initial visit forms before the visit and Ayurveda specific forms during the visit.
